A LIFE DEDICATED
TO MUSIC

Regarded as Brazil’s foremost bass player in the contemporary scene, Thiago Espirito Santo celebrates the 30th anniversary of his career with a series of exciting new releases.

Thiago’s passion for music has led him to study several instruments (he even released an album, "Na Cara do Gol", on which he plays electric guitar), as well as to develop his very own style as a composer. But the fretless bass remains his main instrument, and you'll instantly recognize Thiago at the first note! Throughout the years he has performed and recorded in Brazil and abroad with many great artists, including tours with Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Yamandu Costa and Hamilton de Holanda.

Thiago has released over 20 solo and group albums - among them, “The Jazz Tradition”, recorded in the US and that includes a mix of jazz standars and Thiago´s own compositions.

He has also contributed to the music of Hermeto Pascoal, Kiko Loureiro, George Benson, Kenwood Dennard, Alessio Menconi, Gregoire Maret, Dominguinhos, Toninho Horta, Hélio Delmiro, Paulinho da Costa, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Heraldo do Monte, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Silvia Goes, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Raul de Souza, Marcio Bahia, Robertinho Silva, Toquinho, Filo Machado and Maria Bethania, among many others.

As a researcher and educator, he was invited to write the Bass Method that the Brazilian Government uses to teach kids in 360 cities in the Sao Paulo Estate.
